Relationship between You and the World

By Satya Priya

A relationship between two people can have very different meanings. Good communication makes a relationship intact. Example a relationship between a parent and child has a special bond because they share love, and affection for each other. However, there are times when a relationship can go bad because there is no understanding, lack of communication, and a feeling of distance in the relationship.
Dealing with others can also be defined as how you interact with someone, your view of them, and their view of you and how this affects the way you deal with each other. It is when two people are completely open with each other about every aspect of their lives with no fear of being judged. It’s the one person you can cry in front of without having to worry if he or she thinks your weak.

Because we are born unique we have our own perspective how we understand and react in our environment, sometimes because of our own point of view this can cause misunderstanding. Misunderstanding that leads everyone to do evil. Sometimes we are angry too or feel jealous .This attitude can destroy the good relationship... These attitudes can lead to destroy one’s good relationship. To me, without friendship and understanding there isn't really a way for two people to have a strong and healthy relationship. Honesty is also very important, it is the essential basis of all our dealings, and whether it is with is lover, friends or relatives.

Sometimes people around us give irritations. This is the time our negative emotions arise. When we always feel uneasy everyday and if we feel our mind full of worries and anxiety then we need to meditate to reduce our anxiety level.
Good and right understanding makes our relationship to the word or people around us to be intact. We need to think positive and take the word positive matter how bad is this? And don’t allow anger to stay forever in our heart.

What we have to realize is that everything — good and bad, every philosophy and doctrine — comes from mind. The mind is very powerful. Therefore, it requires from guidance. A powerful jet plane needs a good pilot; the pilot of your mind should be the wisdom that understands its nature. In that way, you can direct your powerful mental energy to benefit your life instead of letting it run about uncontrollably like a mad elephant, destroying yourself and others.

Definition of Sociology

 Definition of Sociology

By Satya Priya

Sociology is the scientific study  of human behavior that is shaped by society. It is a scientific study  because it has a set of goals and methods used to answer questions, It is also called scientific study  of man  in his social relationship. It is said to be a way of life of the people It is focused on how do people react in the society..How people interact with  one another or in social groups. And it is  characterized by the formal and informal social relationships engaged by the individuals. That is the relationship with other people as well the relationships individuals have with social institutions. We have our own way of dealing with the people. It is because of the impact of the society we live in, We grew up in a different society  that makes us a unique individual. We come up with different perspective.

Society is all around you, most of us take for granted. Sociology is about the study of society in which we live in today, and people who make up societies, who we are as people and how we fit in to the world around us. Every one thinks of themselves as a free agent but actually lots of things that influence us , the clothes we wear, the music  we listen  to the country in which we identify ourselves in, they are invented by ourselves and they are part of a much larger social background  to our lives. For example a women may go around  everyday  acting  out her feminity , a way that is a completely normal to her. Education helps society by socializing young children into key cultural values like for example the achievement .

Sociology touches on many different issues that lay within our society today. One main example in children aand the toys in which they play with, girls  enjoy to play with dolls and cooking sets while boys enjoy to play with action men and building sets. This indicate the life plan out for children for the reason that someday it reflects how they react in the society and their role as a part of the society.

Sociology of the Macro and Micro

Sociology of  the Macro and Micro

By Satya Priya

Today there are two main approaches to studying sociology. The first is macro-sociology, or the study of society as a whole. This approach emphasizes the analysis of social systems and populations on a large scale and at a high level of theoretical abstraction. Macro-sociology does concern individuals, families, and other aspects of society, but it always does so in relation to the larger social system to which they belong.
The second approach is micro-sociology, or the study of small group behavior. This approach focuses on the nature of everyday human social interactions on a small scale. At the micro level, social status and social roles are the most important components of social structure and micro-sociology is based on the ongoing interactions between these social roles.
Micro theories examine the process of face to face contact among individuals and personal points of view in society. The human behavior is based on the individuals’ interpretation on a situation and the meaning they give. and how the individual interact.
Whereas the macro theories deal with large scale social events of society meaning things that have public concern. Macro sociology theory sees society as working together as a whole. They use an organic analogy by comparing society to human body, by looking the bodily organs in relation to how they work together as a whole. The emphasis is to put on function interdependence consensus, social order and primary and secondary socialization.
The theories are apart of the micro level symbolic interaction is dramaturgy ethno methodology and exchange theory. Symbolic interaction is an individual based theory that uses constructed symbols such as gestures and language to which people give meaning in their everyday interaction.
War is conflict, between relatively large groups of people, which involves physical force inflicted by the use of weapons. It is contrasted with peace.
The sociology of war comes in both political and historical sociology. Since, war is one of the most important policies that a state can pursue and have often shaped both the formation and dissolution of states. This war is mostly concerned with both its causes and its consequences.
The micro-objective deals with the individual trends of interaction and behavior; whereas micro-subjectivity is what people think, do and belief based on their own experiences
Try to combine the micro and macro theories into one ultimate sociological theory. A better explanation for this is like ice cream. Some people like chocolate mint chip, and others like strawberry sorbet; however, putting these to flavors together will not have a great taste as the two do alone, this is the dilemma that sociologists want to overcome.

Family and Religion Traditions

Many people around the world have many family and religion traditions and different ways how to celebrate their own traditions.

As a Buddhist we have our own way how to celebrate. As a Buddhist we have our own way how to celebrate the Buddhist tradition. In Buddhist ritual we celebrate the three one occasion. The Buddhists all over the world and monasteries will do their mission that is to spread the words of Buddha by means of recitations of Buddhist scriptures. The head of the monasteries likewise the monks and Buddhist people will do reading before the Buddha’s statue. Through these is a big help on the socialization of each one. People go to the Temple and people offer some fruits, flowers, candles even foods with chanting in front of the Buddha statue. They believe that all the prayers will be granted for next life. The Vishaka Pusja is very important for the Buddhist followers because the three wonderful events happened in the Buddha’s life. They are wonderful birth, enlightenment by sitting under the Bodhi Tree and Nirvana of The Buddha. Buddhism it is common that rituals are involves the prayers and meditation.

In praying Buddhist people have to follow the three prostrations .The mind, body and speech to be considered in praying.

How to Selecting the People

In most businesses the people you employ are the most assets. Getting the right person in a right job gives a improves the good quality of a business. Hire people who are smart, hard working, ambitious and nice to be around. One way to consider is hiring is you have to choose the right people based on the attitude and passion behind their work rather than hiring off peoples skills alone. See to it in hiring those people who has the most skill or experience and believe that the person’s attitude will adapt to the work environment they’ll be switching too.

Now days in applying a job it is not what you know but it is whom you know. Sometimes this is one cause of failure in a business because the person you hired don’t have enough knowledge about the job description .It is important to introduce the job description to the applicant for him to be familiarized what job his going to do or undertake.

Selecting the people who will join in the workforce must be selected. The term "best", in terms of human resource hiring, should mean "the most fit" or "the most suitable" for a particular job. It is very important to the managers or employers to take time in searching and hiring employees so that the job available will be succeed. The employers should carefully screen the candidates for the reason that they will be happy with the duties. Responsibilities, work environments and advance opportunities and for the satisfied employee they will stay longer and love the job. They will develop the good attitude and willingness towards their job.

Behind the success and failure of a business is based on the choosing of the right person that is suited on the job.

Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is something we frequently do in our everyday life; it is not something that is foreign to us or something that don’t us how to do yet. The development if critical thinking skills begin during our childhood years and continue throughout our lives as we gain more and more experience in life. Critical thinking skills are important because it requires self awareness and self discipline Rather, it is a seminal goal which, done well, simultaneously facilitates a rainbow of other ends. It is best conceived, therefore, as the hub around which all other educational ends cluster. For example, as students learn to think more critically, they become more proficient at historical, scientific, and mathematical thinking. They develop skills, abilities, and values critical to success in everyday life. Who teach have a solid grounding in critical thinking and in the teaching strategies essential to it.

We have many different levels of thinking. Some of the things that we do in our lives, such as breathing, walking, blinking, etc become almost instinctive and we really do not have to think much about them. Some things require more thought, such as deciding what to eat, or what to wear for a particular occasion. There are even higher levels of thinking and these include our critical thinking abilities. It is very important to make decisions the right decisions quickly, and this usually requires critical thinking on the part of the decision make. In dealing such problems then it will be solved immediately and the outcomes or the consequence will give good effect not only to ourselves but on the people around us. For near future we always use or critical thinking so that our path will be in a right way. Thinking which way to go is already formatted.

By Satya Priya

INTRODUCTION
“The Buddhist Co-operative Credit Union Ltd.” was established in 1997. The noble goal and objective of this union is to provide easily and give good financial services among the poor and marginalized Buddhist household in Chittagong. To become a member of BCCUL, take steps to saving money with members. Then after that they focused only to provide loan services among its members for their productive purposes. This is the first Buddhist Credit Union for Buddhist people in Bangladesh. The first founder of The Buddhist Co-operative Credit Union was a monk in Bangladesh.

BACKGROUND OF FOUNDER
Venarable Shasana Rakkhit Bhikkhu, was born on 1971 at Kadalpur in Chittagong in a Buddhist family. He is a successful and active social service and founded The Buddhist Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. He has many contributions for society and Buddhism. And also he involve with many international and national organizations on different position. He got ordination on 1989. In the present time he is a director and abbot of “Bangladesh Bhikkhu and meditation Center” and “Kadapur Surdhamananda Vihar” and also founder and chief advisor of The Buddhist Co-operative Credit Union Ltd.

HOW THE BCCUL FOUNDED
The Founder of BCCUL studied great Level VI that time. He grew up to his uncle’s house (Mother’s of father house). He saw in that village all of people were facing severe economic crisis and many of the villagers use to take loans from different kinds of NGO. His grandmother used to take loan from them and had to pay loan with installment to them weekly. There was a time she had no money to use in paying her loan then what she usually doing is she had to borrow or lend money to other lenders with 12% monthly for paying her loan. This is the start why some cannot cope up to pay the money they borrowed. Not only his grandmother but also most of villagers take loans from the NGO. When Founder of BCCUL becomes an abbot of Monastery of Surdhamanada and director of Bangladesh Bhikkhu Training and Meditation Center, most of villagers used to come to borrow money for the payment of their NGO loan. Sometimes they use to borrow money to the abbot. If he don’t lend money to them will create some stories or used to cry even they don’t believe that doesn’t have money. Most of villager’s women use to borrow from local moneylenders who charged highest rates of interest with 10% - 20%. The reason why they borrow money is for the payment NGO loan they got. When all of events appear to him that time he used to think lot for villagers. One day he made a plan to meet all women and men He introduced his plan to them. He said to them if you save only 5 Taka to me every month then it will be big amount one day which money you can take from me for giving NGO loan or doing something. All the time he is finding and thinking another way to do some remedy and solutions on how to help villagers and how possible that opportunities will come true. He got a change to meet a field executive member of Karitas and Director of The Co-operative Credit Union in 1996. He built up good relationship with him and he explained the common problems of his poor villagers. Then The Director of The Co-operative Credit Union gave an idea to open a credit union. He took it very seriously and he thought how to convince all of villager’s people. He called a meeting for the people in the villagers. When he explained about his idea to open a credit union all of people supported him. His dream came to a reality founding a Credit Union, which called “Pachim Barua Para Saving and Loan Union in Chittagon on February 24, 1997. BBCUL started with only 20 founding members with little amount 320.00 taka capital in 1997 which one turns big membership as well as capital. This institution was designed specially for the poor people whose income is very low. This institution develops the skills of these people who will attend or involve in the program then it will be a good help for their lifestyles at the same time to their relationship with one another. Almost everyday the members in the Credit Union are increasing and through this he work hard for this union. In 2000 he changed the name of Credit Union. He made a new name for the all of Buddhist people which was called “The Buddhist Co-Operative Saving and Loan Union”. At the same time The Buddhist Co-operative Saving and Loan Union was registered officially to the government of Co-operation office and achieve fully member from the CULB. In 2007 the constitution changed, The Buddhist Co-Operative Saving and Loan Union and wanted permission to set up the credit Union for the whole Chittagong Buddhist area from The Bangladesh government. Members are entitled to inform on the accounts of the credit union, as well as the names of credit union employees and members on the Board of Directors and committees. However, the credit union staff and voluntary workers sign a pledge of confidentiality to keep the information on individual member accounts private. Members are therefore unable to obtain information on the accounts of fellow members. Each member has only one vote, which can be exercised at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to elect the Board of Directors. The Board then appoints the credit committee. Members at the AGM also appoint the managerial committee. The management committee's role is to ensure that the Board of Directors works in the best interests of the members and within the law. The committee checks the books of the credit union and evaluates its operation. Only members are eligible for election to the Board or committees. They are voluntary positions and holders do not receive any payment. Every member can vote him or herself forward for election to the Board or committees.

BCCUL CONTRIBUTION FOR PROMOTING PEACE
We can see Buddha also has given many examples in different suttas for developing a country’s economy and peace through the right use of resources and avoiding force. In the Kutadanta Sutta, how in order to raise the social and economic conditions of a country, the farmers and traders should be given the necessary facilities to carry on their farming and business, and that the people should be paid adequate wages. Thus when they have enough for their subsistence and are economically secure, crime is lessened and peace and harmony prevail . In another discourse the Buddha explains to Anathapaindika, the banker, the four kinds of happiness a layman ought to enjoy. The first is ownership or economic security, so that he has sufficient means acquired lawfully by his own effort; the second is the joy of wealth or happiness gained by the judicious expenditure of lawful wealth; the third is the bliss of not being in debt, the joy and satisfaction that comes with the thought: "I owe nothing to anyone": the fourth is the bliss of being without blame, which is the satisfaction derived from the thought; "I am blessed with blameless acts of body, speech and mind .
A Bangladeshi economist, founder of Grameen Bank Dr. Muhammad Yunus who won the Nobel Peace Prize for pioneering work in giving tiny loans to millions of poor people and social development. He removed poverty through giving a small loan in the rural area where especially lack of poor people.
In the same way The Buddhist Co-operative Credit Union Ltd is going to promote peace with provide loans in many sector such as purchase housing land, house contraction, treatment, investment for business, education, agriculture cultivation, tree plantation and poultry farm ect. and giving money security for rural people in future. The BCCUL is trying to remove poverty for the social development and bring peace, happiness, liberation on financial crisis, harmony in the Buddhist society.

CONCLUSION
Poor people can save and want to save, but some can’t do because of lack of opportunity rather than lack of capacity. Poor people urgently need financial services. Poor people have smaller, more irregular, and often more unreliable incomes, the great bulk of which may be spent as soon as it is received on food and the means to cook it. As a result, whenever they want to buy something other than food or basic needs, they often find they simply do not have the money on hand, even for quite modest expenditures such as basic clothing. This happens to poor people more often than to non-poor people. In such circumstances poor people must go without, sell some hard-won asset, or find some way to tap into past or future income (given that present income is insufficient). Naturally, they prefer the third of these choices, to borrow money with interest. Most of the people income is not enough for the daily expenses. This is the only way or solution to meet their needs by borrowing money to the lenders, in a particular place there are some union that is being put up just to cater the needs of the people. If we compare this BUCCL this co-operative credit union exclusively built to help the needy ones, it gives more benefits of the Buddhist people, while borrowing then you can save too. It is good that there is a one founder who has good heart, because of him the needs of people in Bangladesh (Villager) sustain. The BCCU is trying to remove poverty for the social development and bring peace, happiness, liberation on financial crisis, harmony in the Buddhist society. The purpose is not only to lend money but to promote peace by uniting each member to be one in every aspect of their lives. When ever there are problems arises then through this association will give their hands and help each members to feel they are not alone. From the word union then it means the members are banded together and to protect one’s own right and provide humanitarian assistance if needed. Security will be given also to each members .Through this it can create peaceful communication with one another and secure each member to be free from any danger. Then peace and unity will be built.

What is Allowable and Forbidden for Students

By Nagasen Sraman

Introduction
There are things allowable and forbidden at every workshop. Depending on the profession the rules and regulations varies. For example, a bus driver should not use mobile or answer the call when he is driving. So I am going to write about the student what they can do and what they cannot.

The students have to obey the rules and regulations depending on the situations. The lists of situation are:

i.       Classroom
Students have to pay attention when the teacher is giving lecture. They should not listen to music or watch movies, or use internet. Instead, students are allowed to take notes when the lecture is being given   by the teacher. They should try to ask questions whenever there are knotty points. Students have to sit properly. They should not sleep placing their heads on the benches.

ii.      Behaviors
Good and decent behaviors are accepted form the students. They should have good manners. They should give the helping hands whenever they come across. Students should not be addicted to Smoking other bad habits.

iii.  Assignments
students should do the assignment on time. Submitting them on time means students are punctual. Students should study and rather wasting too much time on watching TV.

Buddhist Culture

By Naganen Sraman
Knowing one’s own tradition is very important for building the life successfully. Every tradition is different than other tradition. One can build a good relationship, understanding and respecting other tradition too.
In my tradition, there is a mixture of both the Buddhist and Hindu tradition. We as Buddhist have ritual and other traditional activities. For, example during the wedding day bright and bright groom are brought to temple. They will be blessed by monks by chatting and sprinkling the water.
The next thing is done on the stage. A person who conducts the marriage ceremony is invited on that day. He advises the bride by quoting the ten advices given to Vishaka on her marriage day 2500 years back.
So, one can be successful by following the ‘Buddhist path to success’. For example as our ajarn mentioned that a Buddhist should marry a Buddhist girl. Then, they will have mutual understanding. They can follow the tradition easy way. On the other hand, if one Buddhist man marries a Muslim girl then they will have difficulties regarding the faith and tradition. This is very true.
One may face difficulties mixing with other tradition. As ajarn also related the story of Venerable Buddha Rakkhita how he experienced his new life being monk in Uganda. And explained three things one may come across while following a new way of life. They are: (i) Hatred (ii) Laugh at (iii) Acceptance
In many of the circumstances we may hate by others. One may experience this while working in office or in society or in intuitions. Secondly, he is laughed at. Finally, he will be accepted by them.
From the above example we can say that people take time to be friend and to consider it. But one should never give up being successful in life. Therefore, one should be patience and exercise compassion.  We must also remember the Buddha’s word ‘one should to the work which his beneficial for oneself and others.

Social Problem

Social  problems, also called social issues,  It affect every society, great and small. Even in relatively isolated, sparsely populated areas, a group will encounter social problems. Part of this is due to the fact that any members of a society living close enough together will have conflicts. It’s virtually impossible to avoid them, and even people who live together in the same house don’t always get along seamlessly. On the whole though, when social problems are mentioned they tend to refer to the problems that affect people living together in a society.
Sometimes social issues arise when people hold very different opinions about how to handle certain situations.

Poverty

A large section of the Indian society is suffering from poverty. Poverty is a phenomenon. The search for causes of poverty has lead to many answers. It has been located in the individual, in the social structure, or the culture of the people. For instance many people blame the victim and consider the poor as responsible for the characteristics or dispositions of the people.A detailed analysis of the problem of poverty shows that poverty is caused by multiplefactors. The social and economic structure in like  India promotes inequality, and social disadvantages. The life in the poverty condition reinforces certain behaviour pattern, values and coping styles which, reduce the chances of upward social mobility.

Gender Discrimination

Women and men are equally important for the growth and development of individual and social lives. The women play the important role as mother and the same makes it unique, women are subjected to discrimination. Today the presence of women in various occupations and public offices is much more prominent than what it used to be during earlier periods. However, the Indian society has still to go a long way as for as gender equality is concerned.

Corruption refers to those transactions which involve undue benefits to some people who don’t deserve or are not entitled for them. Such transactions make some people recipients of financial benefits, physical and social resources that make these people capable of exhorting power over others and controlling the rewards and punishments for others.

, These problems are related to each other and it can seem hard to address one without addressing all of them. Social problem only affects the people whom it directly touches, It’s also important to understand that social problems within a society affect its interaction with other societies, which may lead to global problems or issues. How another nation deals with the problems of a developing nation may affect its relationship with that nation and the rest of the world for years to come.

The very nature of social problems suggests that society itself is a problem. No country has perfected a society where all are happy and where no problems exist. Perhaps the individual nature of humans prevents this, and as many people state, perfection many not be an achievable goal.

My Transformation

By  Nagasen Sraman
Many people have their own way of transformations. Relating the story of my transformation would take back to early childhood memories. I was brought up in multi cultural societies. Of course, many of my neighbors are Muslims.
I was born in a Buddhist family, but I knew nothing about Buddhism. I would see my mom got up early morning and would offer water and candle to the Buddha image which was enshrined on the altar. Sometime, my mom shouted at me if didn’t offer flowers and candles.
I still can remember what I would fell when mom would read the mediation on death. I was afraid of death whenever I would hear my mom reciting that stanza.
Whenever, there was Hindu festival I would join those ceremonies. I used to worship those Hindu goddess same as I did to Buddha. Of course, by that time I totally didn’t know the difference between religions. Forgetting, the differences I would enjoy every activities.
One day, my brother who was studying in city decided to make me novice and thought that I would be able to learn Buddhism. I was happy to hear and got my ordination at very young age. I learned whatever I was taught and followed many meditation retreat courses.
Thereby, I could notice transformation taking place in me. I could meditate one hour long at length. Even, I had experience more from meditation practice.
Finally, my transformation took place when I came to Sri Lanka and learnt much about Buddhism. Then, I can call myself totally a Buddhist without any doubts. My transformation made me to understand compassion and love and etc should be developed towards living beings.

RELIGIOUS

There are a number of different ways in which religion can be organized or structured. Different types of religious systems generally rely upon different organizational structures - as a matter of fact, particular types of organizations can reveal quite a lot about the basic values and beliefs that a religion has.

Religious organizations can be characterized as multi generational institutions with distinct rights, privileges and liabilities: the essential definition of a corporation. While the sources of income and liabilities are substantially different from the standard company, an economic analysis of religious behavior allows us to compare religions in a certain areas..

NON PROFIT

Is an organization that uses surplus revenues to achieve its goals rather than distributing them as profit or dividends. They must be retained by the organization for its self-preservation, expansion, or plans. NPOs have controlling members or boards.

Some NPOs may also be a charity or service organization; they may be organized as a not-for-profit corporation or as a trust, a cooperative, or they exist informally. A very similar type of organization termed a supporting organization operates like a foundation, but they are more complicated to administer, hold more favorable tax status and are restricted in the public charities they support

CORPORATE

A corporation is created under the laws of a state as a separate legal entity that has privileges and liabilities that are distinct from those of its members and one which is chartered by a state and given many legal rights as an entity separate from its owners.

STATE

Many people do not know what the state is. Others mistakenly think that states and major corporations are indistinguishable, both being in their eyes powerful and big. Some of us wish to make the state's growth and sources of power intelligible, and we wish better to understand its nature. The agency cost analysis clarifies issues like these by outlining some theory of organizations and applying it to the state. . By looking at the state as an organization, we see how it has extended its control over society. We see more clearly the impediments to controlling the state. We glimpse the virtues of replacing it with free markets to accomplish such tasks as defense, justice, roads, and money.
