INTRODUCTION
Ambition is a strong desire to achieve something in life. A person without any ambition is like a boat without rudder. Having an ambition needs continuous efforts towards achieving it. One cannot achieve anything if one just day dreams and does nothing.
A strong will-power and determination will carry a person forward against all obstacles. Different people have different ambitions. Some aim to become teachers, soldiers, artists, politicians, doctors, engineers etc. Some try to amass wealth and some run after the name and fame. There are others who aim to serve humanity. One should have a noble aim in life and strive hard honestly, sincerely and with dedication to achieve it.
A person with an ambition should not be dependent upon circumstances. He should move ahead facing all the odds and difficulties that hinder his progress. He should have the firm determination to achieve his aim. His will-power and determination will carry him forward. Obstacles in his way will not lead him astray.
An ideal person always tries to achieve his goal. Aspiring for great things in life is human tendency. The youth of today wants to scale the greater heights of success. If we dream for the stars, we will at least reach the moon.
The nature of ambition varies from persons to person. It depends upon one's family background, upbringing, social status and economic condition.
Man is master of his destiny". He said that by will-power alone we fully determine and control our actions and thereby change the course of Fate.
I have been stimulating by my dream, from the day I knew why I came into the world to so far and even in future, which is making me different from others. It is a goal, an aim, a direction for my life. It is not strange
What we inherit from our ancestors are wealth, knowledge and dream our ancestors' dream. They devoted themselves to building our society, which was not for themselves but for the descendants. They had viewed it because their society existed some outstanding philosophers. That's why their society had been developed.
WHAT DO WE MEAN BY ‘PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT?
Professional Development Plan a set of guidelines used to improve or redirect a career or business; It is one of the most important tools for student and at times for professionals. This is most times instrumental in providing knowledgeable tools and techniques to students who want to plan and reflect on their performance. It is also an important part of career development. A development plan will lay out your career objectives and the path you will take towards achieving them
Example, on the part of the students they are required to do the Professional Development Plan in order for them to get ready and prepare for their career choices and ready themselves on how to attain the goal in life. Individuals might also create such a plan to improve their work methods and to focus their career goals. In writing a personal development plan requires reflection, soul-searching and a bit of navel-gazing. You must step outside yourself, and be objective about your personal development.
HOW TO DEVELOP THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN?
Professional development is the process of acquiring the knowledge, Knowledge where in it will develop our skills to make hard choices, to appreciate how others feel, to shape the kind of world we want to live in, to be moral and live with integrity, There are some important attitudes we must possess. Being talented is necessary to succeed professionally, and a professional-development plan outlines the steps necessary to achieve success. Creating a professional development plan is very important it is the critical first step to cultivating future employment opportunities in the chosen fields.
There are some ways on how we are going to develop or professional development plan into effective way. First, the goals must be measurable meaning they are interconnected on your present situations and will enhance our carrier. Second the we must draw out our goals. It must be related in our personal and professional experiences where in our ambition will be set. This is the start we are building our ambition,
While doing our studies for us students this is the time we are going to set our goals and how to achieve or dream in life, For example you want to be a great broadcaster someday. So, if you want this to be achieved set some guidelines and goals. Goals must be SMART that is specific, measurable, attainable, and relevant and time bound. By doing this then the plan in the future then you can get more knowledge and become success.
You will design these goals around your personal and professional experiences, where you see a need or where you hold an ambition. You need to show, throughout the course of your three goals; to develop this SMART goals then goals need to be specific, measurable and easily documented. And another thing is we have to consider the resources whether it is available so that the goal is possible to attain and can support the goal easily. Another one the goal must be relevant too in the education so that it will be easily attained. And the last one is time considering the set of time of the plan. If this will be attained and can be used to measure how far have you gone on the set goals. Through this guidelines then it is very sure there is a systematic flow of development on how we achieve our goals in life.
In doing such professional development plan we have to reflect on our career because it is here where we can increase our self- awareness because through this we can organize our thoughts and make our goal as our priority. This plan is also a concept that emphasizes the entire plan we are doing. Self – analysis is needed on all aspects because we can get the satisfaction by doing this.
Seeking outside input is needed to gain more information to picture out more about yourself, The willingness to involve in such activities can give more information’s and the skill to be developed through the helps of others to learn and grow. Developing Action steps is very important because it is where we want to change something by deterging first if need to change some ideas or plan. Plans like for examples updating resume, attending seminars and conferences or something that will enhance the ability in reaching the goals.
THE INDIVIDUAL LEVEL
I was born on 1st January, 1987 in the Buddhist respectful family. When I was ten -year old my mother let me stayed to my uncle’s house (mother of father’s house) for study. My uncle let me study. I was enrolled and admitted in the class two. I stayed there only for one year. When I finished the final exam I went back home. After that my mother sent me again to the institute (Buddhist Temple) with my grandfather where there are many boys studying. I spent my childhood days in the temple. I came here in the year 1994 to continue my study.
If I will describe my childhood days and reminisce my past experienced it is very unforgettable moments in my life. This stage is very curious on my part and I worried much that time. I can say that in our village most boys and girls don’t want to study. Most of boys that time were fond of playing cards or they engaged themselves in a gambling activity. Most of the parents don’t mind their children and even not encouraging their children to go in school. One factor is because of poverty. Parents don’t have enough money to send their children in school. Because of this, my mother decided to send me in a temple for study.
On 1996 I was ordained as a novice in the annually novice project `for ten days mediation retreat course. I realized monk life is a peaceful life. No burden and free from any anxiety. From that time I did not to disrobe. I enjoyed the life of monkhood and I am very interested to be a part of the institution. When I completed my secondary school, I got the higher ordination on 2006.
I admitted and finished in higher secondary school. This is where I think my good future lies. After two years I finished higher secondary school. I got a chance to work as a superintendent in the Orphan Institute and Bangladesh Bhikkhu Training and Meditation Center. I contributed a lot towards youth Buddhist Community of Bangladesh as the joined Secretary General of Surid Sanga Club for two years. I served there with good heart and soul for the social works and I was involved for social development in our village.
On 2008, I was assigned to look after Compassion Buddhist institute as an Assistant Director in Sri Lank and rendered my service in 8 months. First, I decided to study in Sri Lanka later I changed my mind and planned to come in Thailand to continue my bachelor degree.
IN PRESENT AND FUTURE PLAN
My past experienced is one factor to lead me and dream to become a social worker. Someday I dream to put up social services for poor people. I have many reasons why dream to have this profession. Most people in our country are illiterates and poor they cannot afford to buy their basic needs likewise the needs of their children. In my village many were not educated. They didn’t finish their education as well because of financial problems. Because of these situations it pushes and motivates me to reach this goal in life not only for my benefit but most especially to my countrymen to my co villagers. I want to do something for them, something that make them happy and survive in poverty.
First I want to build up school. This is a school for the poor, then free education for all indigenous, to build up welfare organization, contribution for Buddhism, to build up free medical center, night school for illiterate people, orphanage for the orphan children, to build elder home for the destitute, solving social problems. Through this I will plan to put up an organization where in I will assign some leaders and it will make the members to participate and active all the time.
Different persons have different aims or goals in life. There are some who want to be doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, professor and etc. For me, I want to be a social worker in future. When I decided to choose what to study at “Bangladesh Bhikkhu and Mediation Center” I decided that this profession can be quite suitable for me. I chose, because I am a Buddhist monk. As a Buddhist monk I can do many things for poor people not only the Buddhist but for all especially the needy ones.. During my childhood days I stayed in an Orphan Organization. That time I experienced and witnessed how to work with poor children and some old people. I’m sure that this profession is really good for me because as I undergo in my study I attended and ’ participate few national and International conference about welfare and social work which was held as Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. And I think there will be coming some conferences and I will attend so that it will give and help me to build up my dreams and also it will benefit my professional development and I will use it in my future career.
At present I am doing my Bachelor degree at MCU .After this if there is an opportunity for me to study again and continue my MA degree until reaching the Ph. D degree then I will pursue my studies so that I can gain more knowledge and experiences that contributes my ability to be a social worker someday. It will give me high expectations and more information on how to develop good relationship with others. After that I will go back to my country (Bangladesh). I will start giving and render my service with them without expecting some payments in return because in my village it is a place where mostly people who live there can’t afford to go in school .So free services to the poor villagers my foremost plan ,
My goal is to put up a school for the poor students that are free education for all. A night school for illiterate adults and open up an orphanage for the orphan children and to build an elder home for the destitute and there will be medical facility, entertainment and amusement for those Illiterate women who don’t know how to keep their house neat and clean, it is a kind of workshop teaching how a parent takes care the children and look after their health. Those who don’t have any knowledge about health and proper caring of environment, I will teach them about the basic rules on how to maintain the cleanliness of the surroundings. There must be designated roles of every member of the family to participate in this program by putting or making some schedules during free time most specially for those parents who participate in this session class. On the other hand I will do something for Buddhism. I will work for Buddhism not only for my country Bangladesh but also everywhere in other country if needed.
CONCLUSION
Success in life depends on our choice of professions. If we look the bright path and not be selfish then we will achieve our goal in life, Life is a matter of choice. We are the one who will choose which way to go. If we choose the good path then it follows a bright future,
I believe and I have strong determination that I will be able to reach my goal in life and as I achieve this then time to serve the nation. The professional development plan serves as my basis in my goal in life. It is a tool for me to direct my good future. It is very important for me set goals and decides how I will have to achieve my dreams. Through this I will know better my self which way to go then by putting them all together then the right path will follow and I can attain my dream peacefully and there will be no wasting time. I will make every single time worthy as I aiming my dreams.
