How to Use Library

Introduction

A library is a store house of knowledge. A library satifitisfies our eternal desire for knowledge of the unknown and the unseen. A library plays an important role in the realm of knowledge. A library is a part and parcel of university, college and school. No university, college and school are complete without a library. Our university has a big library. The library has a good collection.

There are many shelves. The book rag arranged in different shelves according to subject. The reading room of the librarians are separate. The librarian has some assistants. There are reading rooms. The reading rooms are furnished when we take the help of a catalog, the assistances at once find the book and help us.

Classification of Library

There are many kinds of library, but according to my knowledge I am familiar with four.

Here they are:-

1. Academic library

2. Special library

3. National library

4. A public library

Academic Library

An academic library is a library which serves an institution of higher learning, such as a college or a university, libraries in secondary and primary schools are calls school libraries. These libraries serve two complementary purpose's:- support the schools curriculum and to support the research of the university faculty and students.

Special Library

A special library is a term for a library that is neither an academic or school library, or a public library. Special libraries my include law libraries, news libraries, government libraries. Special libraries are also sometimes known as information centers.

Special libraries often have a more specific clientele than libraries in traditional educational or public setting, and deal with only a specialized or particular type of information. They are developed to support the mission of their sponsoring organization and their collection and services are more targeted and specific to the needs of their clientele.

National Library

A national library is a library specifically established by the government of a country to serve as the preeminent repository of information for that country, unlike public libraries, these rarely allow citizens to borrow books. Often they include numerous rare, valuable, or significant works.

A public library

A public library is a library which is accessible by the public and is generally funded from public sources (such as tax money) and may be operated by civil servants. Taxing bodies for public libraries may be at any level from local to national central government level.

How do you use the library?

We can use the library two ways. Usually we can use the library from the academic library and browsing from the Internet.

Use from academic library

We are issued library cards. We can borrow books from the library. We are to return the borrowed books after one week in time. In the reading room we read as many books as we like. Silence is must here. Nobody allowed making noise.

Presently there are many libraries where they use the electronic catalog databases system are searching the books from the libraries within short time.

Use from Internet

We can also read books searching from the Internet. There are many libraries website in the internet. There are few website:-

Calculation

We can get knowledge from the library. Usually we can use mostly academic library. One very good advantage of studying in library is that it is very calm and quite place to concentrate on our studies. Therefore library is very much useful and important for those who depend on library especially for the students.
